PRESS: Union asks to delay investment port payment to Jun–Aug '21

MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs offers to postpone an investment port payment at least until June–August 2021, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday, citing a protocol of a meeting.

The union said that a tough economic situation, a high level of uncertainty about exports, and risks of falling competitiveness of Russian ports after the payment are the key factors to ask for the postponement. The payment was called discriminative because it is to be introduced only in 13 ports and its calculation and distribution are non-competitive.

The Russian government earlier stipulated the rules of investment port payment for vessels of foreign navigation. The amount shall be agreed upon with the antitrust.
